Medjumbe Island

Situated in the Quirimbas
Archipelago, Northern Mozambique, Medjumbe Island is 800 metres in
length and 350 metres wide - a magical destination with private
beaches and countless coves to be
discovered. The coral reefs surrounding Medjumbe Island are one of
Mozambique's best-kept secrets.
Bordered by the Northern Mozambique coastline and the Mozambique
Channel, these waters hold an
astounding diversity of marine species and are all within close
proximity to the resort. Dolphins are
often encountered around the Island and to and from the dive sites.
Humpback Whales on their
annual migration are frequently sighted between August and October.
With its pristine beaches and fantastic dive sites, Medjumbe Island
Resort is ideal for diving
enthusiasts and honeymooners alike.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation consists of a total of 13 thatched chalets (5 Twin and 8
Double rooms) with en-suite
bathrooms fitted with indoor shower and separate bath as well as a
private outdoor shower.
All chalets are beautifully furnished and are equipped with air
conditioning, outdoor hammock, ceiling
fans, fully mosquito screened, hair dryer, mini bar, personal
electronic safe, satellite TV and the
convenience of tea/coffee making facilities.

Fly into Pemba International Airport with LAM (Mozambique
Airlines) and transfer to Medjumbe
via light aircraft (transfer duration +/- 50 min)

For any flights arriving in Pemba after 14h30, guests need to
overnight in Pemba, and will be
transferred to Medjumbe the following morning

With effect from 09 January 2006, a US$ 10-00 fuel surcharge
levy is applicable per person for
the return island transfer from Pemba to Medjumbe

Due to the use of light aircraft for your island transfer, you
are requested to limit your luggage to
a MAXIMUM OF 10KG and to utilise SOFT LUGGAGE CARRIERS. Failure
to do so may result in luggage arrival being delayed and / or
incurring penalties

PAYMENT

Payments for extras made at the resort, can either be made by
Credit Card; US$, EURO, ZAR
cash or valid Travellers’ Cheques

The resort accepts payment via MasterCard & Visa, to which a
3% fee is applicable
MALARIA
There is a weekly spraying programme in place at Medjumbe. All the
rooms are also equipped with
mosquito-proof nets. We do, however, recommend you to take
precautionary measures before
going into a malaria area.
